Have a friend meet you. This one is underrated. You're staying at the only Malibu beach hotel with a pool — your friends who live in LA will absolutely drive out for an afternoon. Tell them to bring snacks. There's a round table and chairs for exactly this.

Decompress. Sometimes you don't need an agenda. You need water, sun, and the sound of nothing in particular. The pool at The Malibu Motel is very good at that.
